If memory serves, making Sleeping Beauty, with every scrap of trad anim talent, nearly bankrupted the company cos audiences were bored of the safe fairytales. The pivot to this style both saved money (with the unfortunately concequances listed) and also was a move to modernise for audiences.

the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
