Today is the day. God i hope i made the right decision here. Lol. Permit was approved and today they’re digging up the space and getting ready to lay the slab foundation. Private home studio construction has begun. So at the end of December I’ll no longer have a public facing studio/gallery space.

New work in progress. I want to start loosening up a bit more with my work. My tendency to get more refined is not where I want to go ultimately. I like allowing more happy accidents and experimenting more. Will see how that goes.

Love seeing my shirts out in the wild!

Ultra heavy vibes today for some reason and trying to dig myself out of them. Started a new commission today and did a hand embellished print of Sister Sunrise as well. Didn’t lift my mood much but kept me moving. Coloring books arrived today so I’ll start signing and packaging preorder to ship..

Decided to rework this new one. May continue to rework it further, we’ll see.

Love the way an awesome collector in Austin had this original framed with the raw edges visible. Always so cool to see how people frame and hang my works.

My thoughts on tomorrow. Though I stole the words from a smarter person (the history wizard) it’s still how I feel.

A little work in progress from today’s studio session.

When my world is feeling heavy or I’m feeling on the verge of overwhelm, my go to is to put something good out in the world. Hoping I can brighten someone else’s day in return brightens mine. Closest thing I can provide to a hug via the internet.

This is a larger 50x52” piece from very early on in this series. I was painting very lose and fast. Still a favorite personally. It never sold so it’s hanging in my studio.

The remaining limited edition prints of “You have this hold over me” from my solo show last summer are now up on my shop. :-)

A little more progress on this 30x40” piece today.

Getting close! It’s going to be 21 illustrations. Each one will have a shaded version and an outline only version. 86 pages with a perfect bound spine. Price will be between 25 and 30 bucks which I know is high for a coloring book but hopefully people will be on board with it. It’ll be 8.5x11”

Been working away on getting my coloring book put together. I’m going to do a shaded and unshaded version of each piece since people have requested that but it’ll going to bump the price up for sure. But I want to do it right. Also started working on this 30x40” piece today.

This week I put the deposit down to start the process of building a private art studio in my backyard. It’ll only be 480 sqft, (half of my current space) 16x30 feet, but it’ll be mine and I’ll make it work for me. I’m excited to be making this jump though, and a little terrified.
