Mayor Olivia Chow says she’ll bring a motion to the infrastructure committee for a “stronger” speed camera program. Includes tweaks like larger signs and more notice, plus sending MPPs and residents info about road deaths and injuries in their area from speeding.

For 150 years, Africville, sitting right next to Halifax, was a thriving Black Canadian community. Halifax refused to provide city services, and eventually forced residents to move as they bulldozed their homes. This is the story of that community. 🧵1/12

Sometimes you read an article that makes you feel like... idk... 15 years ago, some of us got on an express train and saw what was on the tracks ahead. And now we're on a call to the people on the slower train, now approaching, and they cannot comprehend the landscapes we describe as familiar.

Only 1 person in the whole study went from identifying as trans to not identifying as trans. The 1/5 number came from youth going between the binary and non-binary spectrum. This headline and post are misleading on purpose to fit the economist's editorial bent on the political issue.
