In Eve of Destruction, he does this to POLARIS. Literally the one person who has a reasonable chance of taking down Magneto, and Wolverine and his metal bones are all, "no, you stay here and help with this evacuation that requires zero specialized powers."

X-Men includes roughly infinite repeats of this scene: SOMEONE WITH USEFUL POWERS: Hey, I can help fight Magneto! WOLVERINE, A MAN WITH A METAL SKELETON MAGNETO HAS ALREADY RIPPED OUT ONCE: Nah, doll, I got this. ANY OTHER X-MEN PRESENT: [shrug]

Mostly, this series understands that the trick to using Stryfe in any comics post-X-Cutioner's Song (and to a lesser extent The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix) is to understand that he is deeply ridiculous and lean into it.

Over the course of covering it, I have gone from neutral to emphatically positive about Gambit & Bishop: Sons of the Atom. It is a very silly little series, and we need more of those.

@xplainthexmen.bsky.social just caught up to the Library of Congress episode (congrats btw!) and as a lowercase d deaf person, I personally very much did resonate with X-Men through that vector. But oddly enough because disability representation in the 80s was so lousy, Daredevil was my main guy.
