“Starmer assumed Gray had a super-secret plan for governing but she didn’t so they did nothing” is such a wild line, and the hacks seem so uninterested in learning more about this astonishing, farcical setup

One of the great pleasures of living in the Netherlands (and Utrecht in particular) is watching the positive transformation of the city's infrastructure over the past few years. Better bike paths and parking, new public spaces, more street trees, and a huge boom in new housing construction.

This is Avignon Papacy *slander* and absolutely ignores the fact that a) the Romans had been doing it for centuries before that and b) Rome was on fire and you too would want to light out for the south of France. The worst sin of this administration is it's poor grasp of late medieval history.

The volume on the radio broadcasts of the beisból randomly turns itself up and down. This seems to be well-known among listeners but I have so far failed to uncover any trace of an acknowledgement from the perpetrators. Honestly not that great!

Apropos of The Discourse, me and Child #2 went to see B Dylan in Amsterdam last November on his "Rough and Rowdy Ways" tour, and it was great. But I wouldn't recommend anyone try that without at least checking out some recent-ish bootlegs; if you want a cheery Greatest Hits Package, look elsewhere

FWIW absolutely no one I know who has expertise in spaceflight or planetary exploration thinks this is either remotely plausible or a good idea to attempt on such a timeline. The dominant reaction is somewhere on the spectrum between mockery and dismay. Real, important science was cancelled for this

We’re quickly learning that our checks, balances, and separation of powers were always dependent good faith, and therefore incapable of preventing destruction wrought by the very sort of shameless, arrogant, mad president they were designed to contain.

The Gender-Conservative movement cloaked itself in the language and thinnest veneer of feminism to legitimise transphobic politics. Now the institutions vilifying and marginalising trans people in the name of "protecting women" are shamelessly targeting reproductive autonomy as well (as expected.)
