I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

The CEO of Bluesky is craven and evil. The only people that build these platforms are infected with the self-reproducing moral rot of capitalism. They have no sense of duty or stewardship. They see their monetary reward as a cleansing justification for their actions.

Today is one of my favorite days! 12 years ago Bernalillo County was going to issue marriage licenses to Queer couples. The night before, we bought out Trader Joe's Calla Lillys. First thing that morning. Java Joes, grabbed 3 handles of coffee + all the fixing and headed to the court house.

The cited plots of "unapologetically" male novels were one of a character with intellectual pretensions with a thing for prostitutes and the other an old geezer fond of drugs and porn. So dudes who have crappy sex is the unashamedly "male" novel. Blah blah male loneliness epidemic blah blah.

In areas hit by Texas floods, officials were sent over $5 million in federal ARPA funds in 2021. They didn't want to spend it on flood warning systems due to their disdain for Biden - and didn't send it BACK because it might go to a blue state, and "values that we in Kerr county don't agree with."

TIL about Faustino Bocchi, a 17th/18 century Italian artist who specialized in whimsical paintings of extremely tiny people. Example: "The Arrival of the Wife," wherein a tiny woman disembarks from a grasshopper-piloted gondola to join a wedding party of more tiny people/insects.

My preferences are to argue Byzantine empire options cos I'm a medievalist but also people's faces when I'm like 'the Roman empire didn't fall in the 5th Century, it just moved east cos Europe was poor and cold' is always worth irritating the right kind of people.
