One of my biggest gripes with how we tell video game history is how we erase cool stuff like this - usually because it's "local" or isn't "a real game" So much of 90s and 2000s gaming was just derping around with freeware, browser & Flash games, emulators, and these sort of weird independent games

I'm playing with 3D Movie Maker again and I tried messing with the framerate (a la e3dmm from way back) and WOW it's strange to see 3D Movie Maker movies without its characteristic low framerate.

Yeah also related to this, I think there's going to be a pushback against nostalgic throwbacks in the next few years, if it hasn't started already. Either that means my prediction about a 7th gen throwback is wrong, or it will be additionally seen as a push against nostalgia in some way

I could be very wrong but I suspect indie 2000s shooters aren't going to take off in the same way as indie boomer shooters did, because there's a misalignment in what 2000s FPS represented vs what players want now, which wasn't there as much for 90s FPS Let me explain...
