I had this with Cyberpunk like some of the most intimate, cinematic moments looked incredible but it means so little when the way people, thinks AND THE PLAYER move in the world still feels like it's a design pattern from 2 decades ago. That's not BAD but it makes the fidelity feel meaningless.

There's a very special game celebrating its 25th birthday today: Ion's Storm's cult classic ANACHRONOX. This is one wild, ambitious game with oodles of heart. One of those games where a western dev wanted to make something like a JRPG. It's pretty much the Fifth Element as an RPG.
