sometimes i remember that there's a sizeable group of people who use "level design" to refer to a complex discipline within 3d game development that blends game design and architecture and has a storied history and its own specialized concepts and jargon whereas i normally mean doing shit like this

i'm a remake hater but i think chelnov genesis is one of the ones where i have to begrudgingly admit they were cooking, like saga 1 wonderswan, i still like the arcade version better for its cozy vibes though

finally made it past the hell checkpoint in chelnov stage 5 only to immediately lose all my lives on the next checkpoint after

something i like about referring to "the fish boss" in angeline era is that people who haven't seen it might think it is a battle against a single fish, a giant one perhaps

the way to tell if an action game is the right difficulty for you is if you're getting a little pissed off but not enough to stop playing

i wonder what difficulty i should play angeline era on, idk if i want it to be hard or not

i haven't made it very far in rayforce because i'm so inconsistent at it, i keep losing my credits in stage 2 or 3 and then quitting because i feel discouraged.... chelnov i've made it to stage 5 a few times but i'm learning it turns into an evil precision platformer at that point

chelnov genesis is funny, i like that the shield guys don't actually block stuff with their shield anymore, instead they just launch their shield into you at 1000mph when you shoot them. remade graphics are neat but some questionable choices as always with remakes (fish guys are just robots now??)

the early days of console/handheld hacking are always funny to look back on, "open up the back of your ds with a screwdriver to install custom fireware" "if you don't have this specific psp game that now costs $300 on ebay you're FUCKED"

my favourite psp games are like uhh djmax portable 1 and 2.... persona 3 portable.... the port of lup salad.... oh hot shots tennis / everybody's tennis was kick ass
