I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

The words coming out of Trump's mouth are 100% reactive, a reflection of what he believes will impress/pressure/deceive the people he's talking to. Again, the most useful comparison is an LLM trying to complete the prompt. He's doing autocomplete all the time, independent of truth or reality.

Up to and including thinking that things like roads and schools were delivered to them by the Road and School Fairy, rather than having to pay taxes like a civilized adult.

It's as if they understand and accept the facts and/or expert consensus on a given topic but set policy in the opposite direction to annoy the libs. It's not just ignorance or a lack or knowlege. It's anti-knowlegde.
