So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.

Today my block leader told me that a volunteer had come and cleaned her kitchen and bathroom. We were breaking Costco-much rice into smaller bags at the time. I hope that one of the things people learn is that we all have gifts we can give, even if it is not showy. It all can help.

I write weird-ass books. They take a long time to write: I pour layers of weird and the layers need to set before I can layer on more weird. But it's still a story. I'm not worried about a machine automating weirdness. The internet has been weird my whole life and we've still needed weird stories.

E13n is ‘more’ viable now thanks to generative code assistants. That said, you still have to be intentional about the variations you try and the process you implement. Scientific method still beats monkeys on typewriters.

Dampening the Jerk: Why AI-Powered e13n is good for UX
We’ve all felt it. You wake up, open an app you use every day, and suddenly the "Buy" button is gone, replaced by a "Shopping Bag" icon buried in a sub-menu. Or perhaps the checkout flow you could navigate in your sleep now requires three extra clicks. In physics, the rate of change in acceleration is called Jerk. In software development, Technological Jerk is that jarring, motion-sick feeling users experience when the product changes faster than their ability to adapt.

Without fully automated tests that run locally in seconds, there's no way to know if a change has unintended consequences. When generating one or two orders of magnitude more code in the same time, the inability to detect side effects becomes a critical risk.
