I have a lot of the same feelings about
@exe.dev
. It’s made side projects feel manageable and fun again, especially after mostly running on k8s (which I have a lot of love for, it’s just Big™️ for side projects)

My first self-hosted server lived on
zort.org
in the early days of the internet. Letting that domain go is one of my more lasting regrets.
exe.dev
brings back the feeling, but sadly not the domain. New blog:

Really enjoying
@exe.dev
so far. Create a VM in seconds, and then you can use a coding agent via a web interface on the box to quickly get stuff setup. I went from nothing to deployed postgres on one VM, a Rails app in another, with tailscale to network them in a few minutes.

We're excited to welcome

founders

to the portfolio.
exe.dev
lets devs quickly stand up affordable, secure VMs without the need for complex configuration or authentications, or for an enormous cloud bill.

There was no good way to see what CT logs are actually used by CAs, so I made a dashboard of
@censys.bsky.social
data on
@exe.dev

A different article than usual, focused on a new hosting service that recently came out: ssh
exe.dev
www.bitecode.dev/p/exedev-a-n...
TL;DR: the value is far away from OVH or Hetzner, but so it’s damn convenient and frankly, super fun. And I’m not saying that because we share the same .tld

I think I'm beginning to get
@exe.dev
Your ideas can go into shelley instead of into the bottomless "some day" idea pit. And tailor-made software for a userbase of you and/or your friends is a reality now. Supported by what feels like the best UX for VMs in the world. Beautiful! 🤌🏼🤌🏼

This was the first time I tried
@exe.dev
It's pretty neat 👍 I own enough compute that I don't need to pay for the service, but I really like the UX.
