Can I have algorithms for different moods? Not feeds, because we all contain multitudes. But an algorithm for when I’m tired and I only want to see cute cats glibly talking about leftist ideology and then one for when I’m not tired and the cute cats talk about it more seriously.

Beyond upset about Swen Vincke’s decision to use genai at Larian. I could list 1000 reasons why they are the company I respected most (800 of them being the hours I’ve spent on a type and difficulty of game I’ve never played before) until now. It’s just baffling what an obtuse decision he’s making.

Jack Dorsey is real close to Musk. DiVine is made by RabbleLabs, on their site you will find a widget called "And Other Things" that takes you to another domain and explains a lot of stuff about their/Nostr's Ai. Most likely they just want a free dataset of tons of actual videos to train on.

So many vulnerable people were hurt, harassed and raped by these ghouls and now—I’m worried—it’s gonna become hehe haha lurid internet circus instead of a long overdue moral reckoning. I’m scared of who we all are becoming. That man has brought us ALL low.

I need you guys to take a moment to watch Zohran Mamdani's remarks today about anti-Muslim hate and the bipartisan cancer it is. This will go down as a defining speech in modern American politics.

In our next constitution we should include consequences for when public officials don’t fulfil their duties, such as not swearing in elected officials. Or allowing appointments of judges, if I’m being historical. Surely there are many use cases I’m not thinking of.

The BBC's justification for platforming Farage beyond the actual significance of his small parliamentary party are his polls. A rather cynical explanation, for he wouldn't be where he is without the constant, uncritical appearances he's given on the BBC. It's a (literally) vicious circle.

If someone says they are serving in the military, you should not say: "Thank you for your service!!" You should say instead: "Are you willing to obey a direct order to turn your guns on American citizens to squash the political opposition of a fascist?"

If you're wondering why they don't go to court with their high paid lawyers for an easy win, it's because this allows Google to bribe Trump. All the big players are way over their skis on AI investment and are sure they will need a bailout at some point. It's 2009 but for tech instead of housing

Pushing AI into everything right now makes sense because we’re in the thick of an anti-expertise era, and everything it “makes” relies on malicious dilettantes believing that whatever it spits out is good enough for whatever industry or consumer base to which it’s parasitically affixing itself.

Everyone could use a reminder that the idea behind our system of government is that we cede some of our power to it in exchange for it working on our behalf. When it stops doing that it becomes illegitimate and must be changed. The idea that the people can "betray" a government organ is perverse

This is hilarious. Even the Dutch are way ahead of us in seeing how bad things are in the United States with Donald Trump running amok and corporations capitulating to fascism. But, then again, the Netherlands has experience with being taken over by fascists.
