We're having an apparently false spring. Day temps up to 80 and warmish nights. Tiny flowers bloom; bees begin to emerge. Then, next week, four or so nights forecast under freezing. I worry, but there is nothing I can do. I wish the damn weather would behave. Meanwhile, a chainsaw sings.

So I recently discovered that meds I was on were giving me awful side effects. Just four days off them and my headaches and fatigue are massively improved. I’ve been on them for two years. In related news, I wrote 900 words today.

I saw them do this live, somewhere at a big festival in southern CA, back in the day.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

Women of internationalism, this is your day.
