so many of the people who love eureka seven fell in love a long time ago. and now, they don’t *want* to love something. and it’s such a shame. because all of it is beautiful, and worth loving with all your heart.

when i began this journey not when i watched Eureka Seven for the first or second time, but when i first watched Pocketful of Rainbows at the end of last year i was expecting to hate each and every bit of Eureka Seven past the original, quite frankly

the reason i became bitter about Gundam is because i started interfacing with other mecha work and what i found was largely more appealing than what i was finding in Gundam. this is not to say Gundam cannot, or should not, be better. but i think diehard fans need to realize there's more out there

in a weird way, it feels like we've had a monkey paw moment i no longer see conversation about Eva/Geass/TTGL and those being the "i like these but i'm not a mecha fan" shows now it feels like that's shifted to Gundam entirely in the sense of "i am a Gundam fan but i don't watch other mecha"
