Thing is, it would have been so, so easy to wash this stink off. Trans people and & progressives are desperate for hope. I think people would have been very willing to give him a chance to start fixing this, and quite a lot of grace in the meantime. But apparently, even a symbolic change too much.

🚨 Bridget Phillipson remains as the Minister for Women and Equalities After FWS Phillipson publicly stated that trans women should use men's toilets. She recently signed into force harmful & discriminatory statutory guidance which will devastate trans lives. Suggests no change re. trans rights.

's talk "why I left the infinite monkey cage" and it's pretty heartbreaking on the institutional prejudice and censorship at the BBC and being confronted with the reality of the suffering trans people are experiencing. Huge amount of respect for him.

some days you sit down at work and intend to work, and you intend to work all day, and then the day is over. but you haven't worked, you haven't worked at all. you spent a whole day intending, sincerely intending, to work. but you didn't work. why are you like this.

Fellas, is it a good thing when law enforcement officials use the same excuse for murdering civilians as Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs?

They just expect anyone with an illness or disability to never leave home. But they also don't want to provide any support. Anyone who isn't 100% healthy just shouldn't exist.

I feel like this seemingly obvious batshit nonsense cruelty is actually hugely telling - there is literally no downside to the diner to being asked this question. Absolutely zero. It takes up three seconds of your life. You lose more time through yawning. 1/4

Yes. He smothered Corbynism, extirpated the Left from Labour, protected Zionism inside the party, assisted the genocide in Gaza, helped Trump wage his aggression against Iran, instituted savagely racist immigration policies and achieved an authoritarian crackdown on protest. His real work is done.

And it is notable how whenever there's discovery regarding specific workers being sacked for being really, really weird and bigoted about trans people, they're also usually extremely racist and/or homophobic, too, and all their coworkers were experiencing this constantly, sometimes for years

This is a very important point about these employment tribunal cases: a very strange, off-putting, raving ultra-bigot is dismissed or their contract is not renewed, but the onus is squarely put on the employer to ensure they were dismissed without any conceivable error on the employer's part

I've said it before and I'll say it again as I'm watching it. The moment in the DS9 episode Defiant where Will Riker reveals to himself to really be Tom by removing fake sides of his beard to reveal a goatee is one of the most hilariously stupid things in all of Star Trek. Gets me every time.

A pox upon anyone with a loud and hyperactive disabled child like mine for taking them in public in front of society’s sole protagonist: a single person who doesn’t like kids. We selfish assholes are thinking life outside of a culturally and financially imposed anchorite cell is possible!

This is what you say when YOU think people have no inherent dignity, worth, or dignity. Humans cannot make their own value. Society is just an aggregation of beasts. You need the ultimate Big Daddy King in the sky to rule people into obedience. Utter cynicism, projected.

people have a tendency to think that assigned reading in school is to teach children to like reading, when really your school assigns the great gatsby because it’s got a lot of prominent and obvious symbolism. Shakespeare is for learning to push through confusion and pick up context
