There is no such thing as "firing in self-defense" against a vehicle. Bullets don't stop vehicles. The only reasonable thing to do at that point is to jump out of the way. If you're able to stand your ground and fire, then you were never in danger in the first place.

I think it’s great that people like this style of play, my only note is why does it have to be a competition? Also, if your game is designed for short run/2 hour one shots, please say so up front. You’ll get the people who want that and not disappoint those who are looking for campaign play.
