A big thank you goes out to @thewhiskywire.bsky.social & Glen Moray whisky for tonight's tasting, lovely drams all four, but the Forbidden Fruits surprised me, and a bang for buck dram all day long, especially @ 40% ABV. #GlenMorayWhisky

On the palate this Glen Moray 12yo Smoky offers lemony ashy smoke. This would be a great introduction for someone wanting to start exploring peat. Typically creamy and sweet. #GlenMorayWhisky

#GlenMorayWhisky 12yo Smoky Palate: thick smoky mouthcoating arrival: tropical fruit, orchard fruit and a lovely BBQ meats note, some rum & raisin ice cream and a little marzipan all blanketed in a lovely soft spicy smoke. Glen Moray do peat very well and at a decent ABV this ticks all the boxes.

GM 12 Smokey F - Reasonably long, still lovely and warming, still spicy and peaty, it does linger some. As time goes by it becomes more fruity and syrupy. Red berries start to push through, strawberries and cranberries, with a touch of cocoa bitterness. #GlenMorayWhisky

GM 12 Smokey P - Spicy and peaty initially, I wasn't expecting the spices tbh, they work well with the peat. Vanilla pods again, tropical fruits and lemon, like the 12yo, nice and warming . The peat is readily available, but not as strong as on the nose for me. #GlenMorayWhisky

#GlenMorayWhisky 12yr Old Smoky: 40% Nose:That is a filthy nose!! Soft orange rubber tubing full of old oil from small plane engine, bunsen burner tubing, sulphur, back of hand brings sweet cured Mackeral, smoke in hair from bbq/bonfire. Time in glass brings fruit, grilled pineapple.

GM 12 Smokey N - Yes, peated, quite medicinal, germoline, bbq meats, I'm getting the cream soda again, the lick part of an envelope, and a copper coin tang. #GlenMorayWhisky

GM W1 P - Nice mouthfeel, and immediately warming spices, more depth, and I'm going to say greengages, possibly a menthol twist in there, herbaceous, nice wood interaction, and becoming spicier. #GlenMorayWhisky

Glen Moray Warehouse 1 Tequila Cask Finish, which was distilled in 2014, was matured for 8 years in Bourbon casks, before being finished in Tequila casks. There is also a peated version of this available, which I urge you to hunt down. #GlenMorayWhisky

GM W1 N - Stronger nose here. Pears, vanilla pods, evergreen boughs, balsa wood, back of a decorators van, and almost meaty for me. #GlenMorayWhisky

Finish: Long, lingering and slightly drying. Cinnamon spiced orchard fruit crumble with a toasted nut topping, moderately drying oak, baking spices and a hint of old leather #GlenMorayWhisky

GM FF F - Medium long in length, and stays fruity and spicy, and quite tangy and tart, it's a nice dram. #GlenMorayWhisky

GM FF P - Takes a little bit to get going for me, but when it does it's very fruity. Red apples and berries, molasses, juice from a fruit cocktail can. Spiciness slowly develops. Black coffee with cherry syrup, aniseed balls. #GlenMorayWhisky

GM FF N - Bigger on the nose, weetabix, red berries, light, linseed oil. #GlenMorayWhisky

On the palate tarte tatin, golden syrup, malty biscuit, black pepper, dried ginger and white chocolate. Finish is vanilla and lemon honey. #GlenMorayWhisky #BePartOfTheDramfotainment #Scotch #Whisky

Palate: A little thin on the mouthfeel. Vanilla and caramel at first, followed by stewed apple, dried apricot, banana shortbread and subtle oak spice #GlenMorayWhisky
