Dram 5 🏁 - Long side of medium for me, becoming bbq ashes, with succulent bacon juices. Tropical fruit platter, some gherkin juice also, it has a rather nice balance imho. I give this a #BlindDrams

Dram 5 👅 - Spicy and medicinal. Plenty of peat, bacon, brown sauce, and hickory glaze. Mouthfeel is decent, lemon Bon Bons, pomello again, slight salt and petrichor. #BlindDrams

Dram 5 👃 - Again another sweet peat dram for me. Bacon, marshmallows, tomato ketchup. Eventually germoline, sticky plasters, evergreen boughs. #BlindDrams

Dram 4 👃 - Peat, with rose water, turkish delight, and it's coming across with some perfume for me. Red berries, bubble gum, red opal fruits, best nose so far for me. #BlindDrams

Dram 3 🏁 - Medium long, and it's becoming too sulphurous for me, it's taking over 😧. It's a 1 from me. #BlindDrams

Dram 3 👅 - Again some flocking, and a touch of sulphur again. It's a bigger dram this, more rounded, I'd say a Sherry cask. Cap gun caps, slightly tannic, and more flocking. It's gently warming, and a bit Christmas pudding. #BlindDrams

Dram 3 👃 Sweet peat for me this time initially, like a bacon joint with a rather sweet glaze. More time brings balsa wood, some ash, red berries, perhaps, not an easy dram to break down tbh. #BlindDrams

Dram 2 is a 2 for me #BlindDrams

Dram 2 🏁 Not very long, quite light, the flavours seem to fade easily & quickly, like too much water has been added. #BlindDrams

Dram 2 👅 Flocking initially, faint sulphur, Sherry cask, figs, pencil shavings, and not a high abv dram. Clove oil, espresso, and dark chocolate. #BlindDrams

Dram 2 👃 Peat again, but more aromatic wood this time, along with vegetal notes. I don't think it's overly medicinal either. Linseed oil, then something sweet like Bakewell tart icing. #BlindDrams

Dram 1 👅 Yes peat, hot and spicy, I'd say it's quite young. Carbolic soap, nuttiness again, coffee grinds, black treacle, and dates. #BlindDrams

Dram 1 👃 Quite a lot of peat here, with seaweed, a nuttiness, faint cherries, and engine oil? 🤷‍♂️ #BlindDrams

First dram of the evening is another of my £1 minis. I've not heard of this distillery in Canada, and I've no idea how old it is.

My eldest son and myself went to an English Whisky co tasting and master class last night. I told the guy who owns the venue that after trying several EWC drams that I'd tasted 999 whiskies. So he pulled out one of the these, and poured a drop, my 1000th whisky tasted 🥃 #1Kdrams

I’ve just tried the @englishwhisky.bsky.social Smokey. I expected it to be lightly Smokey, it’s quite a bit more peated than Smokey 🥰

I found a pair of these glasses in a charity shop for £4. Thought they looked rather nice, but probably not too functional. Wrong! They’re rather nice to drink from 🥃

I've not tried JW red. I'm not expecting much tbf, as I believe it more a mixing whisky, and god knows how old it is. Thoughts coming shortly, if it's still drinkable. #olddrams

I bought a few older miniatures last weekend, and I can't wait to try them. They may not be special, or worth anything, but they fascinate me. I'm hoping the contents have made it ok, as this Haig could be from the 60s or 70s. Of its ok, my thoughts will follow 🥃 #olddrams

Well, I went out to an antiques centre in Essex today, and came back with these. They were £1 each, and tasting whisky produced a few years ago is right up my street 🥃

The Elements of Islay Sherry cask dram at 54.5% ABV is a cracking blended malt 🥰

I’ve just poured the bourbon cask sample from this month’s Whisky Pioneer sample set. I can’t believe there’re 3 this month, and they’re from bottles I’ve considered buying myself. @summertonclub.com
