Fab first day at Midlands Whisky Festival. Sampled lots of good drams and I get to do it all again today.

Date night before the weekend shenanigans tomorrow and Sunday at Midlands Whisky Festival. Looking forward to catching up with a few whisky friends!

New bottle Saturday. SMWS Hearty and Boisterous. 9 yo 1st fill ex-Oloroso hogshead. Distillery 78. 59.2%. Not getting the roasted Brussel sprouts unfortunately, but it’s a tasty dram.

Last night’s drams from Fib. Mackmyra 8 year old green tea compared with the same cask with an Amontillado finish. Part of the Permutation Series. Both are excellent drams.

Amazing Milk & Honey tasting last night with Shilton Almeida exploring the Dead Sea casks. My fave was the Negev Desert but all were delicious.

Ending the bank holiday weekend with Octomore 10 yo. 167 PPM and 56.8% ABV. Despite the high PPM it’s a great balance of smoke and sweet. #bottlekill #bankholidayvibes

Keep thinking it’s Tuesday. But it’s Whisky Wednesday. Hurrah! Time to open the Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Cask Finish. 43% ABV, creamy and fruity with flavours of citrus, white chocolate and black pepper. Very drinkable.

Friday dram. Wire Works Port Wine LBV. 53.3% ABV. Let the weekend begin.

#ThrowbackThursday Remembering two of the many amazing drams in the Washback Bar at Springbank Distillery. It was the 10 Year Old Springbank Local Barley for me and the 8 Year Old Longrow for the Hubby.
