We always stop off at the distillery on the way up to Glasgow, 20mins off the motorway. The Café is amazing and you can always pick up a very reasonable priced bottle or a bottle your own! #AnnandaleWhisky

Tonight’s we’ve shared, sipped and savoured am abundance of deliciousness from Annandale. What are your overall thoughts and highlights? #AnnandaleWhisky #Scotch #Whisky

Water makes it meatier, pork ramen, duck in plum sauce, duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce, lamb with redcurrant jelly, chicken dumplings. There's dirty smoke, mechanic's oily rag, leaking tractor, strawberry doughnuts and buns, raw tripe and pencil shavings. Fab! #AnnandaleWhisky

The palette is hot. But there's good sweetness beneath. The peat is a background seasoning rather than the dominant flavour. Water brings out that #AnnandaleWhisky sweetness again, like a spoonful of sugar. The peat is a salty second wave of flavour. That's a properly unique experience.

#AnnandaleWhisky MOS STR Finish: sweet berries, marzipan and a little ginger spice. The smoke disappears the further into this dram you get but the underlying STR Wine cask influence jumps out at you. My favourite of the four, they just got better and better!

A decadent strawberry chocolate desert. Rolls around the mouth with a wonderful creaminess. the smoke wafts over your senses with notes of spicy ginger changing to pineapple then to chilli heat. #AnnandaleWhisky

#AnnandaleWhisky MOS STR with a little water brings the berry notes to the fore and dulls the smoke a little - this is a yummy dram! The marzipan distillery character is still here but the lemon and icing sugar notes are pushged to the background.

4 Palate: Mouthcoating and creamy. Milk chocolate caramel toffee, Neapolitan ice cream, gentle peat smoke, cinnamon and cracked black pepper. Water brings tannic oak and a little more pepper. Finish: Becomes more oaky and astringent, together with cinnamon and black pepper heat #AnnandaleWhisky

Woof of smoke, far more than expected from the nose, then changes to sweet smoke, blackcurrant and berries, Vimto, cinnamon Hot Shots, strawberry mousse, burnt toasted teacake and strawberry jam, and a lemon cake and spicy gingerbeer finish #AnnandaleWhisky

Once samples neat, remember to add a small splash-ette of water to see what further sensory story this one has to tell. #AnnandaleWhisky #Scotch #Whisky

#AnnandaleWhisky MOS STR Palate: sweet creamy arrival full of berries and cherries. There's some honey and icing sugar before it goes all spicy and smoky. There's dried pineapple, rum and raisin ice cream and some of that lovely Aldi chilli chocolate. The smoke is very much in the background.

#AnnandaleWhisky Dram 4 MoS STR ex red wine cask Palate: soft, low peat, warm strawberry jam on toast, buttery, palate so different to nose Finish: nutty, medium finish, dark chocolate, chewy
