10 Forest Whisky What whisky do you think Grandpa Broon & Pa Broon would drink? I think GrandPa would go for a peated something, perhaps an Islay. Where as Pa Broon, keeping up appearances would drink something from a Dalmore or Macallan bottle. 🤷🏻♂️

Interesting final prices on these Scotias, seems with the whisky downturn some scotias are still attracting interest. To get to £120 & £160 requires at least two determined bidders. The 2020 tawny is about retail 🤨 (and no, these were not my bottles. 🤣)

I didn’t buy many whiskies in 2025. I think at most I bought 10 - not including those bought for me. 60% of my purchases were Glen Scotia. So it’s no surprise that my whisky of the year for 2025 was Glen Scotia 12 Year Old. Affordable ✔️ Available ✔️ Not compromised ✔️ A winner for me.

Decent Porter from Anarchy Brew. Rug & Raisin Porter, but can’t taste any rum or raisin or any hint of either.

In the world of perfume there are such things as ‘dupes’. Well this is a very close match to Old Specked Hen, from ALDI, however, for £4.49 it’s about the same price as the original, so not really a dupe at all. The ABV is the same…

I’m aware many of you only follow or would like to see Whisky posts. And I respect that. However, I’m a bit desperate. I don’t work, I’m a full time carer for my son, but my carers allowance has been stopped for reasons unknown. At this point I’m barely clinging onto what sanity I have left.
