This here is the entire crux of the issue. We had sensible regulations requiring years of testosterone suppression and hormone therapy to play in women's sports. This had not been a problem for nearly twenty years, including at the olympics. Then the right made it one by straight up lying about it.

The use of the word “eliminate” in this context should really freak out more than just those of us he’s seeking to remove, to be honest. This should be a red flag so big that it’s visible from space.

Many of the people who are all-in on reactionary grievance politics are not "economically anxious", and many of the targeted demographics are very much working class, precarious, and impoverished. To abandon "culture issues" is to abandon large swathes of the working class to fascist violence.
