Reporting isn't a scavenger hunt. The story isn't always there somewhere, ready to be told, if you just look hard enough. You need people who want to talk. This morning, when it was just one woman, a bunch of folks were like, "Sounds like a political hit to me." Now that there's 4 & y'all are mad.

Seeing a lot of hostility towards indie journalists who'd long heard rumors of Salwell's abuses but didn't report on them, & I'm sorry, but that's not how journalism works.
