Chicago’s newest Divvy station is live at Rockwell St & Division St in East Humboldt Park 🚲 This fills a key gap in the system, sits along a popular bike route, and serves a busy commercial corridor in a dense residential neighborhood.

Chicago’s newest Divvy station is live at Canal & Lake downtown 🚲 With the Lake St Bridge closed, a ton of trips have been starting and ending here. Divvy responded by installing a split station that shows up as two separate stations, helping handle the extra demand & keep trips moving smoothly.

Divvy’s Kingsbury/Kinzie station was just electrified. It’s the 2nd busiest in the system and we doubled capacity. Half the docks are now electrified, charging e-bikes and e-scooters right in the dock. The PBLs on Kinzie make trips to this station safe and possible.

Chicago’s newest electrified Divvy charging station is live in Streeterville outside Northwestern Memorial Hospital. One of the busiest stations in the city, now “densified” with 50% more capacity in the same footprint and charging ebikes and escooters at the dock.

Winter Divvy riders: after the recent snowfall, some older dock types have been tougher to clear, leading to intermittent docking issues. Crews are now focusing on clearing the base of these docks so devices can return normally. Thanks for riding and for sticking with the system in all conditions!

I have to say I gave into the hype and got a priority belt drive bike (Apollo) and besides being a smooth and comfortable low maintenance ride in the summer, it has changed the game for the winter. No more worrying about rusty chains! It has been even better than the hype tbh. Great in the snow too

This has done wonders for San Francisco! So many alternative modes of transport. Low speed limit through most of the city. Dedicated bike lanes. A dependable transit system. It is NOT a car dependent city and should be a model for cities in the future.

You forget to mention that Chicago is the most walkable city!!! I haven't had a car for 20 years here. I also have a bike, but sometimes I like to take it slow and enjoy my surroundings. Our public transportation system is amazing as well!! I only know a few friends that own a car.

The recent uptick in high speed e-bikes represents an aversion to spending time with cars. Focusing on them misses the point. Band-aids and pain killers make you feel better but don’t address the problem. We need to focus on treating the root cause of poor road design.

This is a really important thing about speed cameras. They actually do change driver behavior and force people to slow down. They should be an important tool in creating safer streets *along with* design changes.

Never forget, car dependency isn’t freedom. Some might ask “what’s more free than cars?” Choices. Choices are more free than car dependency. It’s not a hard concept. I’m not pitting cars against any other single mode of transport. I’m rejecting design that creates dependency on just one mode.

Yeah a good system is one that you can rely on! For people not dogmatic about transportation, unreliability is the surest way to ensure they move on to more noxious options.
