I seem to be on a run of posting something most weeks on my own blog. Writing the thought down in a blog post sometimes feels like putting it in a box and stashing it in the attic, to make more room in my brain.

Almost all the excitable coverage I've heard of Musk becoming a trillionaire has failed to mention his enthusiasm for fascism, and his actual fomenting of racist violence on our streets a few days ago. Does nothing mean anything anymore? I feel like I'm going mad.

I've always been a little suspicious of calling any artist 'the greatest' as though there were some league table. But as the years passed, and the work continued it's restless advance, and the way of seeing never faltered, it became clear to me that David Hockney really was ours. RIP.
