I said this months ago but also needing black characters to always be a perfect and positive representation of black people is just as limiting as typecasting them. They should be able to exist as individual characters and not a referendum. Sometimes they’re bad. They should be able to do that.

I would like to see more black actors in different kinds of roles. I would like to see them being heroic but also villainous and amoral and complicated. I want them to have the freedom to be actors in the same way their white counterparts are. Not as symbols of a whole race but creative beings.
