I was 13 in 1980, the year Robert Altman's Popeye movie came out - and this book was in the shops. This was the first time I had encountered E.C. Segar's original Thimble Theatre strips and I was obsessed. Obsessed!

I have a plan to save movie theaters and it’s gonna work: Double-price for phone-friendly showings. You can have your phone out the entire time, make calls, talk, bring young active children without fear of being judged. Half-price for silent showings. Phone use gets you banned for six months.
