A distressing pattern has begun to emerge which is to view that not having regressive taxes (and therefore not fund gov't or its programs) is preferable to having them and maintaining services. A desperate country cries out for tax reform and we're met with status quo or no taxes, nothing else

This is the **3rd** bicyclist struck and injured so far today across the city. The other two were minor injuries while this one was a serious injury. All 3 victims were transported to local hospitals.

I'd also point out that nixing the gas tax does nothing to fix roads that are a shambles nor does it help provide regular consistent transit funding -- perhaps the best tool we have to attack fuel costs.

Excited to see the Nickel Plate Bridge over Keystone on the way. Until then, be extra cautious (and visible) when crossing Keystone at 46th St. The drivers are distracted and regularly blow lights and take fast turns across the crosswalk without looking.

It'll never happen, but more news outlets need disability reporters. I spent the morning with a local reporter who covers disability and she mentioned that her presence has made the entire newsroom more aware of how disability (and also accessibility) intersects with other issues.
