Always delighted to spend time with Kansas City’s young people. I heard some great questions and discussion from 5th and 6th graders at Citizens of the World School in Midtown then stopped by kindergarten. The future of our community is bright!

Proud of our changes made over recent years to save lives in Kansas City. A 30% decline is progress, but not the end of our work to improve pedestrian and traffic safety (we’re having fewer car crashes too). Looking forward to further improvements in the year ahead on the Prospect corridor.

Attended the send off for Pastor Charles Bond of Mt. Pleasant Church, as he returns to Memphis. For over a century, Mt. Pleasant has loved on our community. Pastor served them well through the uplifting times and the tougher days of the past seven years. Go well, Brother Bond.

I *RARELY* agree with anything Mike Kehoe says, but that he cannot see the business justification of sinking 10% of the state budget of KS into a stadium is just arithmetic.

I’ll do a few pre-scheduled interviews today on this topic then move on to the important work we have ahead. Yesterday, we heard a business decision funded by enormous taxpayer investment across the line in a sales tax district encompassing multiple municipalities.

Arrowhead Stadium is more than a venue; it is an integral part of Kansas City's identity. Business decisions come and go. But Arrowhead is family, it’s a tradition, and it will always be a part of Kansas City.

Kansas City continues to step up and fund most of our bistate regional public transit needs at KCATA. Getting hardworking people to jobs, folks to services, and many to schools is vital for a thriving community. And, directing sitting benches back to bus stops is just humane.

Always proud to spend time with UMKC and to speak to their new graduates. They’ve got the power to change lives throughout our community. Excited to see their good works ahead.

This week, Kansas City shared an update on the City’s financial position, including the strength of our Rainy Day Fund. Today, the fund sits at $268 million, exceeding its $218 million target by $50 million.

I was proud to congratulate KCPD's newest 911 call takers who graduated this Friday. Since January 1, the Kansas City Police Department has added 34 new call takers to our team. More call takers means shorter wait times and faster help when our community needs it most—an essential duty.

Kansas City works hard every day for the people. When a plethora of health and nuisance code violations necessitated the closure of a local motel, City departments and community advocates helped folks find new homes and helped veterans on site get connected with vital resources.

The KC Streetcar line keeps growing! Delighted to see the line turn east to the new riverfront stop near CPKC Stadium. Testing is underway now until opening in the early spring. Progress keeps rolling in KCMO.

Kansas City continues to make it easier to divert food waste from landfills into organic compost in our community. We’re proud to work with the EPA and local markets to ensure the work we do creates more healthy food access for all in our community.

They got Midwesterners together too! Had a great time connecting with new Omaha Mayor John Ewing. He’s been a public servant for decades, working as a police officer in Omaha for 25 years. We look forward to many great I-29 collaborations ahead for our communities.
