Yesterday I thanked the DC Sandwich Guy for his passionate speech reminding us that everyone has the right to live freely. Today I want to thank the jury. They forced the prosecution to argue that a subway sandwich was a “weapon” capable of assault. Then they firmly told them it was ridiculous.

As if the SCOTUS decision wasn't bad enough, the 6th circuit said "hold my beer" and explicitly created a constitutional right to bully trans kids who are already at tremendous risk of self harm and suicide. These judges want dead trans kids.

What the fuck are "biological pronouns?" This is the dumbest thing I've ever read in service of endorsing the bullying of trans kids. Half the world uses languages that don't have gendered pronouns and these illiterate and ignorant judges are creating entirely nonsensical concepts.

The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP. They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown. They’re refusing. Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop. Starvation as a policy choice.

SNAP is one of the best programs we have for broadly improving health among lower-income Americans, particularly people of color, so it's perfectly on-brand that Republicans want to destroy it.

A couple of highlights focusing on how SNAP reduces health care expenditures. So again, if Republicans *actually* cared about creating a more efficient government they'd invest in programs like SNAP. (Of course we know they don't).

Obviously SNAP is vital on a basic level because people need to eat, but I wish the broader public understood that the positive ripple effects of this program are incredibly far-reaching.
