I don’t understand how people can run for office knowing they have insane baggage and/or crimes. Like I spent the entire campaign expecting AIPAC to somehow dig up my middle school livejournal fanfic account. I prepared my family for it. I’m still amazed it didn’t happen.

Great American State Fair evacuation was a disaster and took over an hour. There is no structure or order outside the venue, even as people crowd and try to line back up. Every live cam of DC makes it look like a ghost town (or like the Rapture happened?). Meanwhile in NY, ships and aircraft from literally all over the world are floating down the Hudson River--other nations sending their vessels to help us celebrate. In other words, the real party is in NY!

I can't drum up any celebratory feelings today. There's freakin' tall ships sailing in my harbor and I feel no awe or wonder. I love tall ships. And celebrations. And I've got nothin'. That guy's fascist antics and all the climate change heat just sap it out of me.
