L’Impasse. My least favourite so far of the newbies. It’s decent but out of 16 taps nearly half of them are Bassin beers. This is the problem I’ve always had with the Amere bars - they promise more than they deliver.

Pleased to report that despite the change of owners and name change Daringman (now Au Derby) is exactly the same.

La Bagarre. New bar opened by one of the Co-Hop breweries. Not quite as good as Chez Mon Ex but still decent. Their herby garlic bread is delicious.

Hells BELLS but Chez Mon Ex is an absolute banger.

And you can get a wee cheese plate from Soeurs next door to eat there! (If you fancy something more substantial their toasties look the bollocks).

No mention of Nigel and no picture of the nephew so women can be on their guard if they see him. So weird. Imagine if it was a relative of Starmer's or an asylum seeker.

Well Bar Bibine is very nice indeed. Right by the Madeleine exit at Brussels Central (back of the train if it’s heading north). Love the little booths.

Ticket machines here are so much better than they were. After your ticket’s printed out it shows the times/platform number of the next trains to your destination!

If you’re looking for a cheap lunch in Ghent I thoroughly recommend Sordo - little soup bar near the castle. Decent-sized bowl = €5.70 plus €0.60 for bread. 3 choices - I’m having the celeriac and chestnut and it’s banging.
