Another grand afternoon spent at Meadowbank watching Hibs. Guest this week was my Dad, and a fantastic rainbow. Who fancies chumming us next time?

@laidbackbikes.bsky.social
went to refit the baby seat in the bakfiets today and we seem to have lost one of the seat belt buckles. Don't suppose you have any or a way to source replacements?

An industrious display from Hibs at Meadowbank tonight. Covering every blade of grass, with exceptional individual performances and a great goal. But sometimes football is about the stuff that happens in the shadows. A real nice night with my m8

It annoys me to no end that the nearest Voi stop to my gaff is a 10-15 minute walk away. And also that there isn't a stop directly at Meadowbank stadium. Please tailor this transport method to suit me personally.

The thread about the Great Edinburgh Beer Duty Fraud: Boiling the Wort and Cooking the Books
It was 3AM on Christmas morning 1933 when - after a long and cold stakeout - not Santa but three agents of His Majesty's Customs & Excise entered the renowned Bell's Brewery on the Pleasance and caught the brewers in the act of working illicitly. They didn't yet know it but the trio had just uncovered the UK's largest ever duty fraud, one with a record that would not be broken for decades to come. So ended the Great Edinburgh Beer Duty Fraud. And so also begins its story, the story of a company set up by Victorian venture capitalists in "An Alcoholic Haze of Ambition" and which had to struggle through 40 years of economic hardship only to decide that criminality was a course of action preferable to watering down their famously strong beer.

Sudden change of plans meant a lift became a last minute dash across town to Waverley. We could park conveniently directly beside the train, but the brain dead ebike ban is still in place.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh. The sub committee was asked by the committee to ask officers to find out what policy they should ignore. The Council has launched an inquiry, they're not sure what about but they do know they want to spend a lot of money on consultants to tell them how it might have been done

I just watched The Great Flood, and actually really connected with it. As a deeply entrenched parent, it struck a chord on a number of levels. However, the reviews are terrible. But maybe that's OK and sometimes cinema is about seeing yourself somehow?

One of the true pleasures of aging beer. This was a jawdropping masterwork when first released, this bottle perhaps frozen in time somehow, still evokes all of that original character. I sold through almost all my Burning Sky in my charity sales, and couldn't let this go. I was right not to.

Going easy and seeing in the new year solo watching TV. Maybe a slight indulgence is required. Cork still in great shape. The yoghurt has dropped off, and acidity turned up a notch. But it's juicy as.

This is what stands for infrastructure in the village our family live in, in the foothills of the Jura mountains. Paint is not protection, taken to the absolute max. I'm an absolute bag of nerves the very few times we have to walk here. People live in their cars here, and I understand why.

I'd heard a lot about The Finch since it opened. Got in there tonight for the first time with some good friends. It's simultaneously exactly in the right place, and a few blocks too far east. What a gaff.

Pay attention to how media covers this draw. Who calls out the issues and which ones gloss over it. Plenty of sports outlets are quite ready to play along with FIFA & Trump and they do not deserve neither your time nor your money.

Horrible to see there's been an accident at the junction of Colinton Road (30mph) & Meggetland. A junction we use more than daily. And used by dozens of young sportspeople Consultation, dither, delay, the Edinburgh council way. There's someone in an ambulance now. Change it to 20mph immediately.

Instead of a segregated cycle path why not simply cycle round one of the most busy and dangerous roundabouts in the whole city/country. And you want us to give up the Roseburn Path and trust you to give a viable alternative in return?
