Third run in two weeks. Having cycled a lot in city over decades you find that what's good to run and cycle co-incides much of the time. 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ Lighter 🌞 morning meant 8am start along the canal, then Meadows and a bit of Holyrood Park. 10k. After a shower took some scrap to merchant in Russell Rd.

Never forget, for many years Uber insisted it would reduce traffic in cities. Instead, Uber drivers cruise without passengers 40% of the time. Uber & Lyft no longer claim they reduce traffic. They now admit they increase congestion. Now boosters lie about driverless cars. Don’t believe them either.

Two Urban Arrows deployed yesterday to clear bag backlog. Had to do quick 'UA taxi' run to Stockbridge first. Out via New Town crescents & back via Water of Leith and up Bell's Brae. Then out loaded up and headed west with flatbed and family. Bike fun x 2... but fast and practical too.

Epic commute to city. Booked to change to Ember for Dundee from Bridge of Cally. Snow at Glenshee meant bus got stuck. Plan B next local bus from hotel one hour later after a couple of refreshments by the fire. Next Ember in Dundee delayed. Now on ScotRail express with only one stop to Haymarket.👍

Cycle commuters in 2026 could use an e-bike answering all the too hard / too sweaty / too oily critics. Or register with a Voi type bike hire scheme. So much choice now and many cities have a few safe routes built.

This demonstrates that the vote to rip out the modal filters and other active travel measures in the Braid estate was not only unjustifiable, but also arrived at by a tainted process which must now surely be revisited.

Big load out to west of city this morning. Used the new cycleway to Roseburn and then followed Water of Leith path. All smooth which is a help when your Urban Arrow tops 100kg. On way pack we had a look at the Dalry infra. Only let down by the 'non link' to canal.

On Ember e-bus to Dundee and Aberdeen north. Arrived Edinbirgh Airport Terminal and picked up a lot of passengers! Connected transport works - even though we shouldn't make flying easier. ScotRail did have plans to have station here but looks like the bus and M90 + A90 will take the strain (or not)
