Pint and book! I've absolutely loved reading The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman. A tale of artifice, aspiration, and arousal. The Odyssey if Homer had access to LSD. The pint was English Pale by Ideal Day, which was refreshingly crisp and clear in comparison to a complicated read.

Since last Friday I've managed to have one whole afternoon (today) to myself outside of working what feels like non stop. What did I do with it I hear you ask? I wrote the pub quiz ready for my shift tonight.

I have served so much cask beer this weekend that I now have pint pulling calluses at the point where my hand grips the handpulls.

Through a combination of working late last night, the F1 being on at 6AM, and the clocks going forward, I am about to embark on a solo shift on Sheffield Half Marathon day with 4 hours sleep.

Pint and Book! This week I read Bread Alone which was a great little anthology of short pieces of writing by working class writers. There were a couple of real stand out great pieces but after 250 pages it did start to get a bit samey. Paired with a Neepsend - Kiwa and a Chonion Cob.
