Thinking alot this morning about how most people don't understand the blood, sweat and tears that go into trying to run a successful pub in today's climate. Everyone makes vague rumbling about appreciating bartenders/landlords but do they actually appreciate the toll it takes on us? Probably not.

I can't even begin to describe how exhausted I am after working all this weekend. Dragging my body back into work now and I'm just a husk. 27 hours of work in a 48hr window is bloody rough.

Friends fear he is flirting with his 431st Mass Effect playthrough. justifications such as "it's ok, I'm going to make different choices this time" have been heard and roundly dismissed.

The debate around kids in pubs rattles on endlessly but let me propose that there is a more pressing concern; Americans in pubs. A woman sincerely asked me "what's bigger a pint or a half?" earlier. Then her and her whole family ordered fish and chips and ate not a single mushed pea. A travesty.

This was really interesting, because it got no traction here where there are few people who have met me. HOWEVER it is the piece I have written that has received the most praise from friends and family. I kinda love this, the way writing can resonate, but also completely bounce off.

I don't know what straight men are going through at the moment, but the rate at which I receive homophobia AND the rate at which I get them trying it on with me have both gone through the roof in the last 2/3 months. Like, pick a side, lads.
