I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

New video shows ICE agents detaining a US citizen legal observer in Minneapolis. The agents smashed his car window, dragged him out, and placed a knee on his neck.

This is Minneapolis: Walk into my neighborhood ACE last night & see the signage on their door notifying fed agents that it’s private property and cannot be used for immigration enforcement. These signs are all over the city. Walk in & the nearest shelf has goggles & whistles.

The focus should remain on slowing down the ethnic cleansing campaign and on protecting Black and brown families and communities from destruction.

Reports and videos show ICE agents asking American citizens whether they’ve “learned their lesson over the last few days” are deeply troubling. Language like this implies intent and raises serious questions about premeditation and mindset on the scene.

The scale of how many ICE agents there are in Minnesota right now is something that seems to be getting lost in the discourse. It’s why they seem to be everywhere.

The question if a police shooting is justifiable is just 1 question to ask. 1st: this wasn’t justifiable. But for me the real question is was it inevitable. As police, we must do everything we can to avoid deadly force. Many times the suspect makes it inevitable. Not in this case

Again I say into the void: stop saying the ICE officer had no time to think. Time doesn’t start when the drama starts. They drove up. They walked up. They engaged. Stop saying there is only reflex, no thought. If so, stop arming ambulatory startle reflexes & calling them cops
