Tuesday's results made it clear that Zohran Mamdani is no longer just a popular politician who won the mayoralty due to star power and a confluence of terrible opponents, but a bona fide kingmaker in New York City politics, with the ability to help insurgent allies bury even established incumbents.

It’s illegal under U.S. and international law to kill civilians who pose no imminent threat of violence, even if they are smuggling drugs or otherwise breaking the law. This is called “murder” most of the time, and a “war crime” if it occurs during armed conflict.

Really jaw-dropping. STAT can’t say with 100% certainty that Donald Trump got a compassionate use exemption—usually reserved for the terminally ill—for an experimental drug to treat “refractory obesity with obstructive sleep apnea and pulmonary hypertension.” They got a lot of non-denials, though!

Eli Lilly gave extraordinary obesity drug access to a 79-year-old patient. Who was it?
Exclusive: STAT has learned that Eli Lilly and the FDA allowed a 79-year-old to gain extraordinary access to an experimental obesity drug through the agency’s “compassionate use” program.

Different administration, different context, different guys, but I can't say how much a "we almost made this deal also, actually" report out of the Celtics front office after a big trade feels like home. In a tumultuous world and a chaotic moment, it's nice to be able to count on this kind of thing.

Mark Singer's obit reminded me how in 1990 Spy magazine sent 58 prominent people $1.11 checks for an unexplained "overcharge... for services rendered." 26 signed it. Then Spy sent 64¢. Half signed that. Then they sent 13¢. Two cashed it: arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi, & you can guess the other.

The “QB whisperer” label for him needs to be retired. Also they just signed Kyler Murray so I’m not seeing how KOC is exactly “sticking” with his lemon

I don’t care either way. I prefer games played outside on grass but teams are gonna do what they’re gonna do. I do NOT agree with Kurt Warner et al who say ALL NFL games belong in domes. That’s stupid.
