lookin GOOT. i get crossed up with whether messiah or god emperor is my fave, but messiah is definitely my fave for Literary reasons (paul dissolving is just 😮‍💨👌👌👌👌👌👌). god emperor is just like, foot on the gas, mainlining that geriatric spice.

so what do folks like microsoft think the next five years looks like when they slaughter their devs like this? i have such a hard time wrapping my head around this outside of it saving them some money for the next fiscal year so they can sell this company to someone else.

UPDATE: I've obtained a WARN notice filed in Texas that reveals 136 employees have been laid off at id Software (including remote workers), with another 22 people being ousted at Bethesda Game Studios' office in Austin. The overwhelming majority of those laid off were CWA union members.

the problem with the games industry is that it makes money in a sustainable way by creating stuff that people want to pay for this is in contrast to how big capital would prefer to make money, by trying to scale fake numbers to infinity using gambler brained investors lured in by impossible claims

good saturday

was startled by (and quickly startled in turn) a california quail on a walk this weekend, and i've been riding the high of seeing it in flight all week! my californian heart swells with pride at the sight of our iconic state bird. 🪶
