I got the Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Criterion for Christmas, and I find myself wishing more than ever that the world looked and felt more like it does in this movie.

There’s a scene in “The Zone of Interest” where the designers of the new crematorium being built for Auschwitz use the word “packages” to describe to each individual murder victim when they’re showing Rudolf Höss how the new system will work.

My favorite Christmas hymn is "I Wonder As I Wander," which I hardly ever hear sung in churches, but wish showed up more. It's got that perfect balance of melancholy, vivid detail, and the Abby classic: humility in the knowledge of human imperfection. It's the best!

My favorite thing about this is how many people in the replies are going “why did I cry at the end of Irish SpongeBob? Why did that happen to me?”
