It’s getting real hard for people to afford groceries, food pantries are seeing more use with less resources, and SNAP benefits for Nov have been suspended. Get in the habit of sharing with your friends and your neighbors. “Accidentally” make extra servings of dinner. Every small act counts

🧸 heard laughing outside and asked to go out so we did. all the neighborhood kiddos were outside playing and immediately asked my boys to join. a dad and his baby saw so he brought her over. the kids were all laughing and playing and giving each other cool leaves for hours. what a joy to witness.

good starting point: most JOCO libraries (and probably in general) have little “meet your neighbor” cards. you fill in your info and hand out to your neighbors 1) to introduce yourself and 2) so they can reach you in an emergency. the simple act helps build trust & community when we need it most

a lot of people are ready to resist and revolt or whatever but when they find out a lot of resistance is… just talking to your neighbors a lot? they lose some steam. I get it. I’m good friends w/ one of my neighbors and the rest im largely clueless about. the work is good but it’s slow & takes time
