It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.

This is catastrophic for US research universities as it ignores the real cost of doing research. The US academic-gov’t partnership forged post-WWII is the greatest creator of knowledge in history and is critical to US economic and technological competitiveness.

current guidance can have lasting consequences at a time when other countries are investing heavily in scientific infrastructure. I am especially concerned about the expiration of diversity supplements and the possible halting of other programs meant to broaden participation in scientific research.

These programs have existed for decades and enjoyed bipartisan support. Science is meant to benefit everyone and re-installing these barriers will have longterm consequences on who benefits from innovation in our country and state.
