If you work, you owe your thanks to former labor Secretary Frances Perkins – the architect behind the 40-hour workweek, the minimum wage, unemployment insurance, and Social Security. On her birthday today and every day, America’s unions celebrate her legacy and leadership.

This deep sea creature is as sharp & clear as broken class, & can grow as long as your hand. This giant amphipod, (Cystisoma) only has two colored body parts: the dense orange stomach/egg pouch, & two MASSIVE eyes, which are a glittering holographic orange layer completely covering its head. 📽️ MBARI

Hey. Hey, you listen to me. The world is on fire. Everything is fucking terrible and expensive and stupid. So you cling to your joys. You clutch them to your chest and hiss at anyone who even insinuates that joy in the face of horror is silly or ridiculous. And then you kick them in the shin.

This is why I make cute and silly stuff, even if some people (including other artists) look down on it as being vapid or less "important". It's the type of art that brings me joy and I want to in turn bring that kind of joy to other people. If it makes you smile or chuckle, it's worth it to me.

The land is blossom blur. Spring wears its bridal white despite a belly already swollen with coming summer. The feral churches of the county hold marriages for spectral couples. Even myths are mating, creating stories waiting to be born. Our blood chases hope. –

I highly recommend that everyone follow artists. If you do, your feed is filled with art every day. Real, original art. It's bonkers that you can even have this. Amazing. Undeniably cool. And then support those artists, when you can, because that helps the delight continue.

The famous Andor line is that "tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle." Here is a perfect example of that through malicious compliance: Idaho forced the city of Boise to remove its Pride flags. So the city painted rainbows everywhere else.
