Speaking as the president of an NGO and as a trans woman: when orgs decide to abandon a group, to sacrifice them, it is not that group’s job to “understand how hard it would have been to fight.” If trans people hope to survive, it is our job to make that abandonment costly as hell. Make them hurt.

If we are understanding and kind when orgs abandon us, that makes it even easier for the next org to make that same decision. If, instead, abandoning us means your reputation gets trashed, other orgs sever ties with you, and you get protests at yr places - that raises the costs of that decision.
