The red card against Balogun was a bad call, but given the apparently corrupt circumstances under which it was suspended, the only ethical choice is for Balogun to voluntarily sit the match out. If he plays there will always be an asterisk not only on his performance, but on that of the whole team's

THREE extremely unethical situations at the World Cup require more football stakeholders to challenge wrongs. 1. Banishment of the Somali referee 2. Balogun red card political interference 3. Treatment of Iran team Players/managers/officials/administrators. Pressure on FIFA should be unrelenting.

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people. By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s. Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

The way no one even bothers to try to stop Elon Musk anymore - he's allowed to take hundreds of billions of dollars in exchange for empty promises, or incite pogroms and push white nationalism, and no one pushes back or tries to constrain him at all - feels like a society that's simply given up

I assume he'll be the world's first deca-trillionaire as well, because despite his companies having not actually demonstrated any great new successes in years, he is apparently allowed to simply PRETEND they have. And we'll shrug and say "may as well go with it" and repeatedly multiply his wealth
