Here we show the befefitial effects of overexpressing moderate levels of Myc in infarcted hearts. Whereas WT cardiomyocytes undergo polyploidization, Myc-overexpressing cardiomyocytes proliferate keeping lower ploidy levels. Excellent work by Cristina Villa and other lab members.
