Went to Crystal Palace Park today to see the dinosaurs (and assorted prehistoric creatures) now they've been restored and they're looking absolutely fantastic.

At worst, I think that some children will be further discouraged from reading. Because the choice of book does not connect with them for many reasons. I think that this hits on a wider issue with promotion of reading & the Year of Reading in general.

The whole Year of Reading is about helping as many children as possible to find their place as readers. That happens through choice. Instead what I think is going to happen here is a lot of copies of one book will be handed out, the vast majority of which are going to be unread at best.

As a librarian/illustrator/musician who plays a fair few videogames, there is just so much of everything out there to love. Even an angsty git like me can only admit that there is an immense world of art and joy out there.
