Last night I realised I was tired of TWM. Never write a series of widely read and very controversial takes on a thing if you want to keep loving it. But it is a really polyvalent movie (accidentally I think) and this is an absolutely cracking thread about it.

I wrote this years ago, and I sorta forgot what was in it. So I just reread it. A lot of my salty political takes from that era were way off base. But this one, this was more on the money than I could have known. Probably by accident? Doesn't matter.

I liked Project Hail Mary, in the way that I liked a lot of 80s boy's fantasy adventure films. It reminded me a lot of Explorers, and Flight of the Navigator, and yeah, those were about boys, but isn't PHM basically the daydream of an 80s kid who still has his pet rock?
