I've been catching up on this and it's quickly become one of my favorite game design pods. I'm always thinking about how games can capture the feel of different media, and the hosts and guests do a great job of delving into the design and mechnics in a really thoughtful way. Highly recommend!

I do a fair amount of critical processing of pop culture through writing fan fic, e.g. I decide what I think about something by writing fanfic and discovering that way what I thought was strong and lacking.

Turns out, and I'm sorry music people who have to slap their foreheads to see someone realizing this in real time, that a lot of music, including indie music, is only available for digital purchase through Apple Music.

Sometimes, things that are worse, are better. And I mean that, because sometimes bad movies can do wildly off the wall things that more competent filmmakers have the sense not to do, and are all the better for it. It's healthy for the soul to appreciate the good in otherwise bad situations.

STRONG agree that making it easy to frame a scene is incredibly difficult. i swear like 75% of new text i wrote for the combined Galactic & Going Rogue manuscript is abt teaching adventure gamers to frame scenes in GMless play. also, no surprise @jmstar.bsky.social is great at it here (cf.
