Meanwhile, 26.9% of American children play football, which has high and well documented rate of concussion and brain injury. Irreversible harm!! And we could look at any number of sports and activities (ballet stands out as another one!) that do the same.

Less that 0.1% of American children receive any form of gender affirming care, and the main 'irreversible harm' from pursuing it is that national newspapers will constantly run op-eds about how you're weird, which will probably affect your self-esteem and how people treat you.

I know the response of 'you're causing irreversible harm to children's bodies!' to trans healthcare for kids comes from transphobia, plain and simple.
