In a similar vein, we just found out today that Earth Must Die is Game of the Week in the latest Radio Times Magazine. I didn’t know it was a thing, and I didn’t know it was a thing I wanted, but now we have it and it’s great!

As soon as we started I knew I was dressed too warmly, so I just decided I’d wait to take my jacket off at the funniest possible moment. I knew one of them would tease me mercilessly and then I could take it off in an aggressive fashion! They did not disappoint!

In my 20s, I thought I was networking with a slightly older playwright- great chats, everything professional. Then one day he texted “are you going to snog me then?” I cut contact, too embarrassed to address it. I only remembered this recently because he was the director of a TV show I was watching.

I’m sure someone else has put this better but: producer is a very…female-coded profession. They do the work that needs to happen but rarely attracts any glory. They have “soft skills” that auteurs and geniuses don’t. They’re often paid less. Just something to consider about why they’re devalued.

I finished The Seance of Blake Manor. Treasa McCabe and her team at Spooky Doorway have created an absolute gem. The gameplay is solid, the writing is great, but the way it's sensitively rooted in real history and culture is what elevates it to an A+. Highly recommended.

When I became vegetarian long ago, people would always try to negotiate around it, find edge cases- surely I eat turkey at Christmas? I now find people doing the same with my mask- surely I’m not masking with clients? Or on a panel? Viruses do not take a break because I’m being filmed for work.

Valve almost halted 'Earth Must Die' over an 'alien orgy' depiction, even after publishers submitted footage. It shows the fine line devs walk with content on Steam. Good to see it passed, but this kind of scrutiny can be a real headache for indie studios.
