Eating Runts at dialysis today cause we all need a lil joy even when things suck.

When my ex was pregnant with our son, we went out to dinner at a fairly nice restaurant just to treat ourselves. This was about six or seven months until the pregnancy, and it had been rough for a little bit. We went to a local hibachi place, and we were really excited because the food was great

I picked the worst time in history to be chronically ill, I tell ya. It’s hard enough existing right now when you’re a healthy human being; when you’re on the edge of survival and you have just enough energy to get by? I’m just glad I have good friends and good family. That’s literally gold now.

Sitting here with my acoustic guitar, daydreaming a bit. I haven’t been playing much because of the neuropathy in my hands, but I saw an advertisement for a Tonewood acoustic amp and I still love my guitar gear!! This thing looks really cool and I think I want one!

Was gonna do some shopping today - I need new shoes and some hoodies for fall. The shoes I get are kinda expensive cause they’re special shoes that help with my med conditions, but they last a long time. I last bought them three years ago. But everything is so expensive! All the stuff was like $500!

I played Space Quest III a bit this weekend. That game is one of my favorites - it definitely has a soft spot in my heart. I remember being 12 years old and saving up my money to get it. I got it just after my birthday… and spent so much time just exploring. That kind of joy… hard to find these days

Doing my Friday Dialysis thing. Just trying to think about how determined I am to stay alive, and get another transplant so I can be around for my kids and so I can finish making more video games. I’ve got a lot to do yet.

The adventure game community lost a good friend this week. Roberta Vaughn suddenly and tragically passed away. Not only a friend to us, but to so many, she sought to not only preserve gaming history but to also encourage others who collected, loved and created new games. She will be so missed.

Man, it’s hard keeping up on social media platforms. I spent years building up a presents on Twitter and I even had a blue check on there when it meant something. Now I get no interaction over there. And I forget to post here. I really have to work on building over here. Just hard sometimes!

Doing the ole dialysis thing. Managed to take a little nap after a busy morning - visited the spine doc just before treatment. Listening to some Paul McCartney & Wings and getting through my four hour treatment. Go team.

Just another pic from dialysis. I’m feeling pretty good today. Getting better everyday. Warmer weather is on the wing, physical therapy and spine treatments are ahead. Looking forward to a good summer 2025. As good as it can be while hoping for a transplant, that is. Thank you for all the support!

In the midst of all this craziness, I lost private insurance and just signed up for Medicaid. I hope we all still get coverage cause this was the cost of a med I need.

Staying alive is rough business. Boy, I’ve had a rough run of it the last two weeks, and I’m not out of the woods yet. Been resting all day at home, which is both nice but also maddening. Recovery is hard especially when you want and need to do 3,000 things. But I need to be alive first.

Back at Dialysis in center today, hoping everything goes smoothly as possible. Last week was pretty horrific. I was just sitting here thinking about how much I miss my dog too. She was a good companion to have when you were convalescing. I still need a lot of rest & recovery. Stupid baby steps.

Welp. Yesterday towards the end of my dialysis session, I started to not feel well. Something wasn’t right, & I told my tech; they stopped the machine and they returned my blood and gave me fluid, but my heart was still pounding like crazy. Ended up being taken to the hospital in an ambulance again.

Holy crap. Quick catch up here - take it to the hospital with a G.I. bleed on Monday. Had a weird reaction to getting blood during dialysis ended up babbling and speaking incomprehensively. Had both endoscopy & colonoscopy to try to find source of bleed. Nothing found but bleed stops.

Sitting at dialysis, thinking about how much I’d love to make Quest for Infamy 2, but knowing how I couldn’t do it until I got another kidney transplant. I just don’t have the health and energy now and it sucks. We had lots of plans for it. Would love to work with the old crew again.

I have been playing adventure games on PCs for over 35 years, and I have spent the last 22 making them. I love all kinds of video games, but these whole special place in my heart. I have to be honest, though, my heart hasn’t been in it as much for the last few years.

Oof. Trying to manage a new social media platform is work. I haven’t posted here yet n a while but here I am again at dialysis. Got a lot of pain from herniated discs today; I can barely walk. Makes making games difficult which I hate. Hope whoever reads this is doing better than I am!!
