I’m really sad about the passing of “Burger” Becky Heineman. I was lucky enough to strike up a casual friendship with her over the years, mostly based around chats about Tass Times in Tone Town. She was just so smart and innovative. For me, it was really cool to make friends with a hero of mine. RIP

I sat at home alone today. No one called. I didn’t go anywhere or do anything. My buddy Ron did text me mid-day and my Dad texted me early in the evening. My kids FaceTimed me a couple times. But all in all, a very solitary day. I’ve felt a little isolated lately but I’m loathe to change that now.

The past couple weeks have been really tough. I have been dealing with a personal family situation that has been taxing and difficult. I am so behind on so many things that I need to do. And I really only have so much energy to do them. Here I am at Dialysis pushing on. Things will get better.

Just heard “If You Leave Me Now” by Chicago on the radio. Song instantly transported me to hearing that same song floating of a tinny old radio on my grandparents porch at their camp in the Adirondacks. It was the early 80s, a beautiful summer evening and I can remember just how it smelled. Perfect.

Accidentally ended up listening to Christmas Music this morning. Trans-Siberian Orchestra is playing now and I ain’t mad.

Currently miserable at Dialysis - I have a pinched nerve in my upper left back, which is making my arm really with both pain and numbness… imagine a limb, falling asleep, but not being able to shake it awake. It’s really bothering me and I have to sit here for four hours.

As I’m up early this morning, getting the kids ready for school and getting them on the bus, I remembered back when I was in college and I skipped classes for three days and played Final Fantasy V(a fan translation) on ZSNES almost constantly during that time. What time & focus I had! Youth!!
